+ 1 The Enterprise Compute Initiative (ECI) is a S$150 million government-backed programme run by Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) — a joint office of EDB, Enterprise Singapore, and IMDA — announced at Singapore's FY2025 Budget. It pairs Singapore-registered enterprises with one of four major Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle) and a partner consultancy to build a production-grade AI MVP. Each successful applicant gets up to S$105,000 of consulting support (70% of up to S$150K costs, you cover the remaining 30%) plus S$200K–S$350K in cloud credits (with complementary programmes pushing the cloud-side value as high as S$1.9M in some cases).

Reality check: This is not a self-serve credit grab. You need a real Singapore-incorporated company with ≥10 local employees, a tech team, CEO sign-off, and a concrete AI use case. If you're a solo founder or a foreign startup, this is not for you — look at AWS Activate, Google for Startups, or Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub instead.

+ 35 • Cohorts are staggered — each CSP launched its track on a different date and runs for one year from that launch

+ 36 • You pay 30% of consulting costs out of pocket (max S$45K of your money)

+ 37 • Cloud credits are paid directly to the CSP — you don't see cash

+ 89 • You co-fund — 30% of consulting costs (up to S$45K) come out of your pocket
No comments on this line yet.
+ 90 • No cash — cloud credits go to the CSP, consulting subsidy goes to the consultancy
No comments on this line yet.
+ 91 • Singapore-only — foreign-incorporated entities cannot apply; you cannot "set up an SG entity to qualify" without genuine local headcount
No comments on this line yet.
+ 92 • Headcount gate — the ≥10 SG employees rule eliminates almost all early-stage startups
No comments on this line yet.
+ 93 • Prior AI experience required — you can't use ECI to learn AI from zero; you need to show past custom AI work
No comments on this line yet.
+ 94 • Selective — not every application is funded; impact and scalability win
No comments on this line yet.
+ 95 • MVP focus — the deliverable is a production-grade MVP, not pure R&D exploration

+ 101 • Pick the CSP that matches your stack. Migrating frameworks mid-project burns credits and time.

+ 102 • Engage the consultancy early. They help shape a winning application and know what DISG approves.

+ 103 • AWS has the highest baseline credit (S$350K) — best if you have no preference.

+ 104 • Oracle has the highest stretch ceiling (S$1.9M) — best for regulated workloads or private cloud needs.
No comments on this line yet.
+ 105 • Azure is the strongest pick if your use case centres on agentic AI or Copilot extensions.
No comments on this line yet.
+ 106 • Google Cloud is the leanest base offer but bundles deep training and certification — great for upskilling teams.

+ 107 • Plan for 30% co-funding in your project budget upfront.

+ 108 • DISG is part of EDB / IMDA / Enterprise Singapore — a successful ECI engagement can open doors to other SG grants (PSG, EDG).
