+ 1 Deutsche Telekom's sovereign European public cloud (rebranded from Open Telekom Cloud to T Cloud Public in 2026) gives new business customers a €250 starter credit when they redeem the voucher code at booking. The credit is valid for 2 months from contract conclusion and the voucher itself must be redeemed by 31 December 2026. Infrastructure runs in certified high-security datacenters in Germany (Magdeburg, Biere) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam), with a separate Swiss variant — fully GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001 / TISAX / BSI C5 certified, and outside the reach of US CLOUD Act / FISA jurisdiction. Useful for European startups and SMEs that need an EU-sovereign alternative to AWS/Azure/GCP, especially for AI workloads where data residency matters.

+ 13 • You are a private individual / consumer — T Cloud Public is explicitly business-only ("only offered to business users in Europe")

+ 14 • You are based outside Europe (the voucher in particular has been historically tied to a German billing address; international acceptance varies — confirm with the 24/7 hotline before signing the contract)

+ 15 • You are an existing OTC/T Cloud Public customer (starter credit is for new accounts only)

+ 17 Bottom line: This is not the same kind of frictionless "sign up with email, get $200" trial as AWS or Azure. It is a B2B cloud contract — there is paperwork, you need a real company, and onboarding is meant to be done with their sales hotline rather than a self-service flow.

3. Enter the voucher code at checkout — the current published code is 4UTCP250 (post-rebrand). The legacy code 4UOTC250 still appears on older landing pages and may also work; if one is rejected, try the other or call the hotline

+ 26 4. Provide company information: legal name, registered address, VAT ID, contact person, billing email
No comments on this line yet.
+ 27 5. Choose a billing model: pay-as-you-go (recommended for a trial) or a Reserved Package (12/24/36 months — only useful if you already know your workload). Reserved packages do NOT auto-renew.

+ 28 6. Configure payment method (SEPA direct debit / invoice — credit card is not the default for B2B accounts here). The eShop allows changing payment methods later

+ 29 7. Accept the Open Telekom Cloud / T Cloud Public terms

+ 30 8. Account is provisioned, voucher credit is applied — you have 2 months of contract time to burn through €250

+ 32 Strongly recommended: call +800 33044770 (free, 24/7, English-speaking) before booking. The starter-credit flow is meant to go through their sales/onboarding team and they can confirm voucher eligibility for your country and waive friction in your contract.

+ 34 Important caveats:
No comments on this line yet.
+ 35 • After 2 months OR after the €250 is consumed, all running resources silently transition to pay-as-you-go billing. There is no auto-shutoff. Set tight budget alerts before deploying anything that costs money
No comments on this line yet.
+ 36 • Cash payouts of unused credit are explicitly excluded
No comments on this line yet.
+ 37 • Credit applies against published list prices only — discounts cannot be combined

+ 78 The single biggest reason to pick this over hyperscalers:

+ 80 • Datacenters: Magdeburg + Biere (Germany, 3 AZs), Amsterdam (Netherlands, 3 AZs); separate Swiss variant with three Swiss-soil AZs

+ 81 • Operator: Deutsche Telekom AG (German company, German law)

+ 82 • Compliance: GDPR, ISO 27001, TISAX, BSI C5

+ 83 • Jurisdictional protection: Outside the reach of the US CLOUD Act / FISA Section 702, unlike AWS/Azure/GCP EU regions

+ 84 • AI services: All AI Foundation Services run on EU infrastructure — your prompts and embeddings don't leave the EU

+ 86 For EU-regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government, regulated SaaS targeting European enterprises) this is often the difference between "can deploy in production" and "can't".

+ 92 • The €250 will not last long on GPU workloads. An H100 instance burns through it in under 24 hours of continuous use. Treat the credit as exploration budget, not a free training run
No comments on this line yet.
+ 93 • Cheaper alternatives if you don't need EU sovereignty: Hetzner Cloud, Scaleway, OVHcloud all give EU residency at lower price points without the B2B contract overhead
No comments on this line yet.
+ 94 • For pure AI exploration without infra friction: the AI Foundation Services API is the most interesting piece — it lets you call Llama 3.3 / Mistral Small 3 / DeepSeek R from EU-hosted endpoints similarly to how you'd use Together or Fireworks, but with sovereign data handling

+ 95 • Hotline first, signup second. Unlike self-service hyperscaler trials, the starter-credit flow really is designed to be onboarded by a human. The hotline is free, 24/7, and English-speaking — use it. They can also confirm whether your country qualifies for the voucher

+ 96 • No trade-register filing required upfront, but you must provide a valid company name + address + VAT ID. Sole traders / freelancers (Einzelunternehmer, auto-entrepreneur) generally qualify
